hello Giving the length of posts I sometimes read on this forum. I was wondering what type of random activities do you involve yourself In when your pryed away from your computer! As I like the INXJ variety

I was wondering what type of activities would you engage in when your looking to expand your social circle?

I'll start the ball rolling:

Tennis club, gym, mountaineering, voluntary work (win win)

I have found that most the friends I made from voluntary work have been N types I have encountered has been through voluntary work?

Reading, playing with my brother, exploring, cruising, getting lost in the woods, daydream and playing board games(chess, monopoly and checkers)

ok does that expand your social circle outside those you already know?

I have a question for you extroverts: why do you need to constantly be socializing? I feel like I'm suffocating if I'm with a room more than 3 people. For you Smiffy, what fun do you get from being around people? How can you not get tired from talking to others for hours and hours and not wanting yourself to hit your head against the wall?

playing guitar, sleeping, eating, reading(though lately I have little time for that apart from my school work), taking photographs, listening to music, doing absolutely NOTHING :mblow:

well I have my limit! But 90% of the time I like meeting up with people to do something, but I do like just hanging around my house or other peoples houses too

Thats something you guys sometimes misinterpret, extraverts can be happy socialising with one person if they get along well enough, but for people who are acquaintances its hard to keep a conversation goinjg longer than 20 min! once again depends on the acquaintance!

also Its not a choice I just have a drive to be social! like you have a drive to be solitary!

Are you insinuating that my social circle is small? Hmm?

I know my social circle is small and I like it that way.

Activities outside of this:

I read a lot
I write a lot
I create a lot
I spend at least ten minutes a day communing with my fish
Other than that its a lot of household duties of stay at home motherhood...and packing right now...

haha is it?

well not all infj's are the same, I know 3 other ENFPs are we are different in alot of ways

11 posts in and not one social activity yet!

Yes it is. But that doesn't mean you can assume that just because I'm an INFJ!

...

Okay it does.

I love, love, love gardening. I also enjoy reading, skiing when I have the opportunity, but that is rare... ummm... working out.... pretty much anything where I get to be with my husband and kids, including social events but that is only because they like them, hiking, long walks on the beach (well, who doesn't like long walks on the beach?) painting...

Once upon a time, I liked going to concerts and plays, which I suppose are kind of social events of a sort. I am one of the rare INFJs who likes dancing.

I suppose 95% of the things I truly enjoy doing do not expand my social circle at all. Oh, well.

Okay, social activities? Jesus....

(Thinks long and hard)

Training, but I go there to train not to socialize. Socialising is the unfortunate by product.

ok you interact via one person! well if you want it to!

Im more talking out of house socialising! you know in the real world!!

man its so funny!

Yeild,
is training what we in the states would call working out?

If so, I have never understood why some people would want to socialize while doing that. Pilates, Yoga and some dance classes, okay, those are kind of social. But sitting there working out and having people talk to me is just annoying. Also, rather dangerous as I usually wind up dropping something or hitting my head on the bars. Ouch. I hate it when that happens.

Mind numbing detail? Wouldn't dream of it.

Well to answer your question, once upon a time.... Okay I see i'm gonna have to phrase my posts as a hollywood movie pitch.

I don't mind it if it's something I'm interested in. In fact my chosen field forces me to be social. It's a people job I suppose. I just simply don't have that many people in my life who I'm comfortable around. And they're not interested in going out with me anyway and if I get drunk I'll end up in a brawl.
