Trump took a phone call from the President of Taiwan. China has complained about this action.

Thoughts?
 
This is Trump being a leader. America has been China's bitch for the last 8 years. Time for that to stop.
 
For the benefit of context:

The journalists of the mainstream media (and most of Trump's opponents) are angry because Trump made a phone call to congratulate the democratically-elected and first female President of Taiwan because it offends the undemocratic oligarchy of China.

My advice to Trump: Keep pissing these people off. It's a lot of fun to watch.
 
If this was facebook, China would be the jealous girlfriend wanting to know why you liked a post from your ex.

Seriously, who needs this kind of drama in their life ?
 
Oh and China was pissed off first of course. But who cares about the legacy of Dear Leader Chairman Mao. His childish authoritarian fantasy to see his enemies wiped from the map of legitimacy because Communism is perfect is dwarfed by his legacy of starving his own people for that very same concept.

That is just about as opposite a perspective, to that presented by most of the media, as is possible.

I can only imagine the meltdown if Trump pushed the UN to recognise Taiwan as a country, let alone allow it back in.
(It won't happen of course).
 
I agree with Taiwan being a separate part from China.

Trump's action, however, is reckless.

I won't say anything about the nationalism of each country because LOL oh people you guys need each other
 
Ronald Reagan was personal friends with the president of Taiwan at the time, and would often correspond with him.


I'm getting the impression that the media will have a spaz every time Trump does something Clinton wouldn't.
 
There was...may still be a great documentary on Netflix about China building the biggest damn in the world. While greatly limited in what it could show of China thanks to the Chinese government, It still gives a pretty good look at how the majority of the Chinese population lives. You either live in an over populated city, village outside of a city or as one of the lucky few living in the upper echelon.
Most live in the village setting where it seems they are a thousand years behind the times still.
I honestly believe that if China's government were not oppressive as it is under communist rule, it would be the world leader in well...practically everything.
