Superstitions

I'm superstitious in thinking that if you keep trying to talk sense with some people, they might start talking sense back.

Never works.

Perhaps because unfortunately sense is more often in the eye of the beholder than it should be.

Funny, any belief in superstition on my part seems to have fully died when I finally came to the conclusion I do not believe in a creator created by humans.
Can anyone think of an exact event where superstition has had a positive effect on anything in the world?
