Keep in mind that Engineering is an extremely vast pool of studies and as you encounter students in other disciplines you'll realize that the only cross-overs are in that they all spend way too much time in lab in their later school years.
All of engineering is looking to apply knowledge to fix problems. We code, create medicines, design wings and fuselages, create ways to look further into space. We don't typically create the knowledge, but build on it through application of our skills we learn in school and at work.
I've done well with my CS/EE degree over the years but with the rare exception of robotics and AI, both hobbies, my heart is not into it.
My regret: not standing up to my parents and going to school for what I knew my heart was in. (I was forced into EE because I could do it and it was what my family was familiar with.)
