i saw some interesting information on wikipedia's crayola article about the naming of "peach", which says "The color known as Flesh was renamed Peach in 1962, partially in response to the U.S. Civil Rights Movement." which explains some of my confusion to me. we don't have crayolas in australia so i didn't grow up knowing this colour as peach, and to me, it bears no relation whatever to actual peach. i grew up with derwents, which still label this colour "flesh pink". i can understand why they changed the name, but the alternative they came up with seems confusing and weird. i would never consider eating a peach that was that colour, it would look revolting.
