That's pretty much exactly what I was referring to. I know, I'm weird that way. The mere challenge (though diminished in this case by them continually showing us which dream they actually were in) of keeping track of what's happening in a fiction is something I very much enjoy, but that's just me. And even then, it's the same kind of enjoyment you get from a sudoku or a jigsaw-puzzle, it kills time in a pleasurable way but is utterly void of emotion and content.
I do agree with most of the things you said about the movie.
