I've been thinking about someone and wondering what this person's type was. For you INFJ sleuths, here are some tidbits of information as I would like your serious opinion! :)

1. He is a visual thinker and has an eye for art and graphic design. He's also interested in education.

2. He used to smoke pot a lot in high school. (I think, not sure)

3. He has a funny sense of humour that might verge on being presumptuous.

4. He seems to be a people person, but also seems shy at first. He can also be very reserved.

5. He's very good at leading, managing conversations, but also doesn't mind other people taking the lead in conversations.

6. Occasionally, he'll have controversial opinions on things.

7. He likes very beautiful things and collects rare coins.

8. He has an easy-going personality although can have a bit of temper too.

9. He can have a laid-back fashion style and he can also get dressed up to the nines.

10. He has a warm, effusive aura and likes dogs for pets.

I think he leans more towards ENFP. What do you INFJs think? What are the main differences between the two types? I tend to think I'm very good discerning the differences, but with this one, I am unsure.

I'm not an INFJ.. But he sounds like me.. So he must be an ENFP! (Half joking). XD

:D Now that I come to think of it, he can sound a bit like me too. I guess people can have more similarities than differences in these types of things. So hard to tell!

Yeah, a lot of the points you've mentioned about him can be applicable to pretty much any type.. So it is very hard to tell! Seems like someone's been payin' a bit of attention to this fellow ;) LOL I kid, I kid (Sorry my sense of humour is lame xD).

With time it may become more clear to you ^.^

Hehehe! I have! I hope things become more clearer after time. He is a most intriguing fellow indeed! :D

The pathway to determine this differences is the 'occurence'.Take the example: How often does he behave? Do you notice him quite and reserved most of the time? If so, he's an Introvert. Now, let's take look: ENFP = Ne Fi Te Si;INFJ = Ni Fe Ti Se.Yeah, they have opposite functions.Clue:10 Fe 7 Se 1 Ni.

I think he is Ne+Fi dominant. Although Ni as well. I don't think Fe is one of his primary functions. In fact, I think he is closer to an INFP than INFJ. I suppose it's possible that due to his job, he developed his complementary functions more so tests as INFJ. He just doesn't seem like an INFJ to me, although I could be wrong.

I see. You seems so observant. But, Can you give a measurement you use to discern the him? What do you know about INFJ? What do you see about INFJ? What did you see about that makes him not an INFJ?.Thanks.

It is just a "feeling" I have. With INFJ men, I feel they are quietly scrutinizing me, judging me to see if all my hairs are in the right place and if I have a piece of lint on my clothing. With him, I feel that he is less "judgmental" and more "open" to new ideas that are outside the norm. Also I do not think he is a "people pleaser" as some INFJs tend to be...although not all INFJs are people pleasers. He is someone who will not always say "yes". He will say "no" when he feels like it and does not fear disappointing people.

Also he doesn't mind going with the flow. I could be wrong though!

Does he have a lot of wacky and creative ideas that he'll tell you about? Is he serious but also goofy and likes to play the clown?

Ah, So that's how you look us. Some of your judgments were right. However, It doesn't mean INFJs more to stick to old ideas. We are extremely intuitive and have a broad and boundless realm of Concepts and Imaginations. If I would juxtapose myself on what you said, Yeah I am but I will not. What do I mean is I may judge people, first not directly. I am very sensitive and aware of human feelings so... Instead, more like I would please her more than judge her looks, because I don't want to ruin her (most of the INFJ feels [Fe] more than he thinks [Ti]). Behind this, It depends on the social function around him. It's an instant adaption. If people show total hostility and too much iniquity towards others and him, We would become a rebellion, and they would surpass the cruelty of people for the sake of vengeance. Relatively, rise and fall, hot and cold, eat ice cream on winter, drink hot coffee on summer. All of this depends If INFJ value more vengeance than pity. Thanks for your feedback and be well. X)

Let's see! He is quite nerdy at times. He can speak for lengths about any sort of subject that he reads about or studies. He is passionate about all sorts of things. He can also be goofy, not sure about playing the clown. I think he prefers being seen in positions of authority so might hold back on the practical jokes LOL.

To be honest, I don't have much experience with INFJs in person. Most of the people I know are ENTPs, INTPs, INTJs, ISTPs. I wonder if personal effects such as iniquity and hostility have more to do with cultural norms? This board is heavily represented by the UK population, so there is a natural tendency to be more diplomatic than overtly asserting one's opinions over others as that is their cultural norm. I'm sure on other boards, people might have a tendency to be more forthcoming about their lack of social graces and often ask inane questions of an interpersonal matter.

I think people can have a bit of enjoyment poking fun, but not in a mean way. But I digress...let's see! I do know he is quite a private person and also an open book. Perhaps paradoxical in a lot of ways!

I'm wondering if LucyJr might have some opinions on this fellow? Or solongotgon. They are so good at discerning the hidden motivations of people. :)

Sorry If I can't help you out or I made you perplexed, perhaps.Yeah, you should consult to the other expertise you'd prefered. And to be honest also, though I'm INFJ, I have a numb and idle mind and maybe I'm the dumbest INFJ ever born.

He sounds like a classic male Libra. lol

I find ENFPs to be a gregarious bunch. Like their energy bounces around until they magnify it towards a certain direction. He sounds more like a mature INFJ male as you mentioned he can be reserved and perhaps more observational before injecting himself into the picture. ENFPs i know are very straightforward and tend to stay that way as long as you interact with them.

Honestly, this guy could be many different types based on the characteristics you've listed. So, hard to tell. For me at least.^^

You might find this video helpful.))

I feel like there's a HUGE difference between Ne and Ni doms. If you can decide on which one he leans towards, that could help.

He could be anything lol. But it does sound pretty NF. Or maybe even ENTP. Why not ENFJ or INFP though?

He is definitely NOT ENTP! I know this with conviction. I don't think he is an ENFJ either. I don't trust ENFJs lol. I was thinking he could be ENFP or INFP.

I'm not so familiar with horoscopes so have no idea what Libras are supposed to be lol. The few INFJs I've seen, they seem to be reserved until they start drinking- and then they turn into ESTPs! :loco: (Mind you, I am talking about a subset of 3 INFJ men I know in person)

ENFPs are great because you can literally bounce any ideas off them and they are open to new things and experiences while not asserting societal judgement over things they might not agree with and possess a great deal of empathy. Also, all the ENFPs I know were very much self-starters and quite disciplined about a lot of things. I guess maybe my history with ENFPs are a lot more positive despite not knowing many INFJs in person. I can spend all day talking to ENFPs and lose track of time, whereas with INFJs, I always find I need a bit of time to recharge although I love their emotional intensity.

Hmmm...now I'm leaning more towards INFJ....If he is indeed INFJ, I'm thinking being platonic friends would probably be best, knowing my horrible history with INFJ men lol.

This just sounds like any other person. Can you give us some indication as to what his thought processes are like?

Oh, apologies if you were offended! I wasn't making any negative implications, simply that it is good to also get others input in addition to the insightful things you had to say. I appreciate yours too!

It's a bit hard since I don't access to his online diary LOL.

I'm just going by vibe. I usually find that my initial assessments are accurate 99% of the time.
