I came across this site for testing learning styles that took it way beyond the traditional auditory/visual/kinesthetic and added more elements. I am not sure how much merit there is to this one, but I find it fascinating nonetheless. Probably because a simple system has been broken down into a far more complex one! 
In any case, they look at active versus reflective, visual vs auditory vs tactile vs kinesthetic and left vs right brain.
