'Nerdy bachelor parties, ah... the life of the INFJ : P'---- YUP :) I'm expecting Return of the Jedi, light beer, pizza, and probably a seminar on this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batrachotoxin. I'm helping my friend and his fiancee set up a church yard sale early tomorrow morn, apparently there is a refractor telescope on sale for $5. (expecting plastic lenses/broken glass/no eyepiece) I think I'll take it, even if it's a total lemon I can always take it apart and learn more about how they're designed. The sale starts at 7:00am, the pizza I enjoyed is making me extremely thirsty. I plan on grabbing a pitcher of water, reading the popul vuh (great book!!), then calling it a night *yawn*

I wish my sky was pretty most of the time, it's always cloudy. Nova Scotia is right on the North Atlantic, the climate is rainy/foggy/cloudy 80% of the time. It's heavily forested here, which I like but there are a lot of pine/spruce trees nearby, the spruce longhorn beetles are infesting the area. They are coming into my house, I normally throw them out the window. (I don't like killing them and this is reinforced by the fact that they spray pheromones when disturbed, also my fish won't eat them) I had a sleepless night and an early morning, couple friends came by to show me a bloodstone ring at the local Jewelers. It was very pretty, but 575 dollars to spend on a ring that doesn't really commemorate anything would be beyond my means and totally insane. Still it was an interesting trip, my friend had worked in the Jewelry business over the past couple years and thought the ring would look good on me. I want to find some relaxing songs to listen to tonight. I like metal but I have to be in a specific mood to listen to it. Just eating pizza and relaxing tonight. I have the same friend's bachelor party tomorrow, he's into genetics, geology, jewelry, physics, and sci fi. It will be my first bachelor party ever attended, and a very nerdy one at that

I love that movie, Darren Aronofsky's movies really connect to me, he's a master at getting me involved emotionally. Just got back from a star party. I saw Saturn for the first time through a telescope: a cream colored barren world flecked with yellow and burnt umber surrounded by a sharply edged ring. My friend's scope has a flimsy weak mount, the edges of my glasses tapped against the eyepiece causing the reflector tube to move, so Saturn fell out of alignment. But then he re-aligned it so I could look again
I've lots of ancient Egyptian history to condense in a very short time, it's very late here too. Have you had the chance to go observing before? What's your average night sky like? I'll be back on later this morning, really like the background

Thanks. Weirdly enough you remind me of myself too. Im not sure why. When I was 17 I read this amazing book called 'The Broken God', by David Zindell. Its part of a sci fi trilogy. Its like mathematical poetry philosophy. its my absolute favourite and it really helped me come to terms with myself and many other things. I dont usually recommend it to people because its an aquired taste. But i have a feeling you would enjoy it, probably for the same reason as I did.

I enjoyed that "crazy" fighting scene with the "fake chaplain"--- loved this one, the deer fight was pretty cool too.

I wanted to go out for a walk before it rained, so I didn't have time to properly reply. I love the cinematography in it, the Chaplain's temple, especially the fight scene in the bazaar. The sound effects are so good, any parts you liked in particular?

Glad you're feeling a little better! I'm still feeling kinda crummy, but its a horrible rainy day so im going tocurl up in bed while Isobel naps and then go clean my kitchen. My life is really that exciting.

nice, I think you'll enjoy it, it totally blew my mind. I don't think I've met a single person who as a kid didn't do similar things, it's just weird to get into conversations about doing that with people our age People will deny it, but I'm sure they have.
I used to burn ants with magnifying glasses, and pour liquid soap on their nests, I learned the lesson, such things (thankfully) don't occupy my time nowadays
