Paris Shootings, Explosion & Hostage Crisis 11/13

@flavus also for "What is the point?
Point is that very small percentage of muslim are extremist that commit these atrocities. More we understand that and don't blame it on whole muslim world, less islamophobia this would be stopped. If you want to understand how it will happen - start with understanding mind of terrorist - no one is born like that. More we hate them more 'muslim' (extreme) they become. There is great movie that was nominated for Oscar few years back ' Dirty Wars' (free on youtube)- how US 'helps' making this terrorist.

How the US is helping making terrorists...
Please do not speak for me. Terrorists are influenced on a far greater level by their own countries. It makes no senses to single out the US when their own countries are to blame.

Yes I am well aware of the opinion that the liberal media passes off as fact. I am well aware of thr opinion the liberal media shoves out to weak influential minds. But thats all its ever been, opinion based on nothing having anything to do with facts.

It is all mixed up in both mainstream and alternative media. We are all on different levels of understanding what is really going on.
I do not speak for you. You are just one citizen of US - so am I. When I said US I mean power behind US government. I don't hate nor blame US citizens.
Try to hold your national sensibility and understand from personal point and some psychology knowledge how this terrorist are made. Try to think about situation if your mother was muslim and father american - you will find the truth.

....... we simply do not agree on this matter.
I do think and have an understanding of why things are the way they are. Without getting into the whole...no one can actually know anything without actually being there ... its fairly clear that its easy to come up with a foundational account that terrorists own countries are far more to blame for their existence than the US.
However there is a certain element within those that become terrorists minds that no one is responsible for. Mental sickness is sometimes just an element of a malfunctioning brain.

Well, we can thank the Bush Administration and the Republican Congress for NOT having turned Saudi Arabia into a glass factory on September 12th...but I digress...

^^^This so much.

I really love how people cannot separate these toxic nations like Saudi Arabia and another Muslim country that is peaceful, democratic, and in some cases their women are more equal to men than they are in the US - such as Indonesia.

Nations With Significant Muslim Populations Have Overwhelmingly
Negative Views of ISIS, Survey Finds

From Nigeria and Jordan to Indonesia and Turkey, Muslims have overwhelmingly expressed negative views of the extremist group.

http://www.alternet.org/world/overw...s-significant-muslim-populations-survey-finds

In Lebanon, hatred of ISIS is at 100 percent. It's hard to beat that for universal condemnation.
Since Beirut was recently the site of an ISIS terror attack – the most deadly attack since Lebanon's civil war – the enmity for the extremist group stands to reason, and has likely strengthened. But Pew's survey was conducted in April and May of this year, suggesting that Muslims do not have to be direct victims of the group to hate them.

Terrorism is good for global warming so I say lets keep it

France Still Vows To Take In 30,000 Syrian Refugees

“30,000 refugees will be welcomed over the next two years.
Our country has the duty to respect this commitment,” explaining that they will undergo vigorous security checks.

Hollande noted that “some people say the tragic events of the last few days have sown doubts in their minds,” but called it a “humanitarian duty” to help those people … but one that will go hand in hand with “our duty to protect our people.”

You have got to be joking. Indonesia?

Ever heard of the Bali bombings - more dead than at Paris?
Ever heard of how they execute mentally disabled people?
Ever heard of what they did to the Papua New Guineans ? (We're talking ongoing genocide).
Ever heard of the Jakarta bombings?
Ever heard of the Bangkok bombings?
All of the bombings have targeted Westerners.
Trains have women-only-carriages, because the rate of sexual assault was so high in mixed carriages.
ISIS affiliation is actually starting to become mainstream in Indonesia.

If you think Indonesia is better than the US I think you might be on a slightly different page.

Here's a fact for the anti-terrorist-Islam group: ISIS declares all Muslims that are not of their strict code, to be infidels. They consider them to has strayed from the path of Islam and have targeted them as much as they have any other person in the West.

Anyone ever think that part of ISIS' plan is to make the world hate Islam so we all gang up on, kill, murder and destroy the infidels ISIS wants to kill in the first place?

What better way for ISIS to fight their fellow Muslims than to make the West do it for them?

If you want to judge all Muslims by the one group, you might as well judge all Americans by this guy:

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss the old glory days of the New Atheist movement.

I happen to believe that all religion is the cause of all this. Muslim, Christian, whatever your flavor. Anyone who denies this is failing to see that no other thing on the face of this planet - since the dawn of time - has caused more bloodshed and has taken more lives in the name of <insert god/s here> than religion. ANY religion. I think if people really want to start pointing fingers, they should start aiming at the humans who create these religions - not for spiritual solace, but for power and control of those that choose to believe in it. Condemn me or not, this is just my own unpopular opinion on the subject. But this isn't a religious debate, so I'll see my way out.

The bloodiest regimes in recent history have been basically atheistic states. Stalin 20 million dead in the gulags/purges (this from a nation where religion was banned and declared "the opiate of the people), Mao maybe 45 million worked, beaten and starved to death, Pol Pot 7-8 million starved, and butchered, Hitler 8-11 million in the death camps. What do all these guys have in common? Avowedly atheist or anti-religion.

I'm no bible thumper myself. A confused agnostic at best. But the anti-religion/blame all religions sentiment never fails to befuddle me. Atheist circles are now preaching their distaste for religion with religious fervor! It is perhaps demagoguery that is the problem, whether it hides under a spiritual or political facade. Islamofascism is not the fault of other religions or all religions. That some Muslims choose to behave criminally is not the fault of all religions.

i don't see anywhere in the op that you're commenting on where it is declared pro-atheism. and i don't think you read the op's later response either.

It's becoming evident that I am too emotionally invested in the unfolding events and am also projecting grieving anger from personal loss clouding my objectivity and rational thought. This is not the place to unload my chaotic thoughts and it is not in the spirit of humanism, I am sorry to all.

pro humanism. not pro atheism.

edit:
and also those akin to hitler and the like were not atheists tho they may have called themselves that or someone else labeled them as such. they had their own disturbed view of how their religion should be. hitler's being a skewed version of the roman catholic religion. So in that respect, yes these people responsible for paris do resemble these tyrants. in that they distort their culture's/people's beliefs to suit their own agenda. the 'power and control' free mentioned.

I didn't call Hitler an atheist actually. The National Socialists did make a concerted effort to persecute many religions obviously, and it was certainly part of their agenda replace religious faith with nationalism. National Socialism actually tried to get people to return to holidays they considered authentically Germanic/Aryan in heritage, meaning ancient pagan holidays. But the main thing was to create state holidays not spiritual holidays. And of course all the communists I mentioned certainly hated all organized religions and roundly tortured, abused and murdered anyone who disagreed. And I wasn't calling Free's statement over-all atheist. I was just contemplating how much blame is cast on religion of recent by atheists (and obviously humanists too). And certainly humanists can be atheists (and many are), though that's not the point here.

sorry but it just seemed like you used free's statement to push your own take on it. and that's fine, but it was a statement later negated by another. which made yours seem a little redundant and almost as if you were calling her out.

Definitely not "calling her out." Just responding with my own thoughts on her post. I hope we all feel okay to do that here.

When you make comments like this can you please cite your sources. Everything I have read and researched shows that death because of religion far exceeds deaths caused any other way with exception of natural causes. I have read accounts like the one you have given which have always turned up unsubstantiated. Yes, when confronted with the news their religion has been a partner in crime to human extermination priests and the like are quick to say "oh atheists have killed more people. " All with these great "facts" attached. Facts that have the substance of dreams though.

Atheists have never banded together with the intent of killing off religious people in the name of atheism that I know of. Give me specific example and show me if I am wrong please. Im not talking about an atheist in a war killing people. Im talking about a war where atheists have come together to kill off people who are not atheists themselves.
