I could tell she was an older lady, hence the gentle squishes

pretty much all dogs are perpetually puppies, in my eyes :3
Cool. All I want to do is see thousands on people going nuts in a Stadium.
Youtube is full of tutorials for making different genre's of music, however they are mostly not in Cubase, but FL studio. Need no panic however, when you figure out the fundamentals of production you will know what to look for in these tutorials.
Based on the fact that I don't have much experience with different audio cards I can only say that I am satisfied with it, I have a friend who is a top notch producer and uses Scarlet as well, he seems happy.
I actually went to a course for music production, where I was instructed in using Cubase, therefore I do not know any tutorials for it.

You should also keep in mind that you are probably going to need some Samples and VST Plugins for the DAW. VST stands for Virtual Studio Technology and it represents your virtual synthesisers, filters, compressors and etc. I humbly suggest the Waves package and the Virtual Synthesizers Massive, Omnisphere, Spire and Sylenth.
You will also probably want VST banks for all of them in order to have more choice of ready made synths, but let that be the least of your priorities for now, this can be pretty darn overwhelming, I defiantly shouldn't mention all the things you would need to know in order to make a track, and I am definitely not talking about Musical training. When you are ready to learn the rest I am willing to recommend books that I read on the topic, thought keep in mind I also have to learn tons of stuff about it.
As a DAW I use Cubase as well, many friends of mine speak pretty good of it.
My Midi Keyboard is a Novation 25sl MKII, witch is a nice mix between a keyboard and a controller, thought keep in mind you don't need a controller, you have a built in mixer in the DAW.
My Audiocard is Focusrite Scarlet 2i2, it gives nice results and it is pretty good on the budget, however I am planning on buying a nice RME sound card in the future.
I monitor my sound with a studio headset, since I am not finished with the studio, the model is AKG. For my studio however I am have bought a nice pair of Genelec 8040 bpm.
Can't wait to hear your results.
    gasp!!! that's so exciting! : D
