    Are you a healthy INFJ?

I struggle a lot with bouts of rumination and negativity (weekly if not daily), but not to the point of severe functional impairment (though sometimes problems with concentration and focus on my studies). How the hell do I dwell on the sunny side of life?

    Your "calling" in life

    1. Global health psychiatry--becoming fluent in the language of some developing nation, employing a strategy called "task-shifting/task-sharing" that involves a core educated medical specialist (myself) teaching, organizing, and overseeing a team of local health workers or trained laypersons to...

No ban on tourists in Amsterdam marijuana cafes

Pardons, I was being facetious. I am in health care and it made me laugh out loud a few years ago that "amotivational syndrome" is in the textbooks.

Ultimate Difference Between INFP and INFJ

    He feels superior to sensors.

No ban on tourists in Amsterdam marijuana cafes

Marijuana causes amotivational syndrome. It is known. Not that amotivational syndrome is that bad.

Should I change and study psychology?

I'm in medical school aspiring to become a psychiatrist. I think mental health is a great field for INFJ. I've been through surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, etc. and nothing intrigues me more than the mind turned on itself.

    sensor breakup II

Sure, dull is dull. I have filled in a lot of my discontent over the years with spiritual cultivation and good friends whom I do have fantastic conversations with. My perspective on relationships is to find an effective companion, not complete acceptance nor unconditional love and...

    sensor breakup II

Thanks for your understanding. It really helps a lot. I like your mentioning of switching off N--that's what I felt I had to do the vast majority of the time I was with her. This was incredibly uncomfortable and unfulfilling for me.

    sensor breakup II

I didn't feel misunderstood as a person at all (quite the opposite actually) and I definitely wasn't trying to get fixed, but I understand that those are common problems. What I did feel was that our conversations were unfulfilling and that our world views were very different. Have you ever...

    sensor breakup II

God DAMN it hurts to hurt others. I gave this ISFJ a chance. She is a fantastic person--my thought in giving the relationship a shot was that if anyone could build bridge between the intuitive-sensor world with me, it would be her. My perfectionism further egged me on telling me that I should...

    future INFJ psychiatrist here (possibly)

I highly recommend psychology, medicine, or psychiatry to INFJs. Medicine will be tough because the memorization is our weakest point, but ambition and creative studying can overcome that (I made very colorful mind maps to memorize details and scored in the 80th percentile of the first of three...

There is an Alternative to Capitalism

The matter is not of different wavelengths. It's just that the form of communication we are using is conducive to misunderstanding--I assumed that you held certain assumptions, et cetera, et cetera, there is no venue for immediate clarification, hence misunderstanding. You certainly seem more...

There is an Alternative to Capitalism

I have read what you wrote in its entirety and I understand perfectly, but I disagree with you on two synergistic fronts: 1) The notion that the mere existence of a shifting pool of wealth in this world as vindication of selfishness. 2) Your assumption that our quarrels with entrepreneurship...

There is an Alternative to Capitalism

Of all those organizations, I have only heard of the G20. Could you direct me to some reading about the other organizations? Perhaps the situation is more sinister than I thought it to be.

There is an Alternative to Capitalism

I don't believe in an "agenda" per se. I see what is happening as the inevitable result of a matured human construct--the corporation--and corporations are just doing their job; doing what they do best. Corporations are more powerful than governments are now. Their power will only beget them...
