Hmmm, I shall certainly check it out. I LOVED "Fight Club". I like movies and stories about people discovering and learning more about their inner selves.

Good sir, surely you must be saying this just to make me blush?!
A lady of my status ought not to blush in public ;$

    (= THX 4 REP LOL)
oh nice what was the satsang experience like? i had to wiki it as im unfamiliar with buddhism and the like beyond general talks ive listend to with jack kornfield and i had the same feelings you had, too vague for my likings.

i couldn't agree more about the ego manipulating ideals and philosophies to suit its own purposes, this is why DA seeks to dissolve the personality through awareness and inquiry. basically almaas believed that meditation/eastern philosophy allowed one to touch and experience the fundamental aspects of awareness (true nature, essence, wtv you wanna call it), but only temporarily bc the rigid personality with its holes and fixations prohibited us from living with it permanently. its the reason he uses enneagram to help someone have one of those moments that you described in your post, that aha moment when you realize everything you see in yourself and others is inherently subjective and jaded bc of the personality and its assumptions. seeing yourself and reality this way allows one to be more open and unassuming, but its dependent around this recognition.

anyway to stop myself from going on a rant here, heres a link to hameed ali's (aka a h almaas) website. between the videos/voice recordings and articles its pretty informative. if it does get you interested let me know.

you seem like an old soul - much more older in your approach and perspective. Are you really in your 20s? :D
oh ok, thats surprising. alot of what you mentioned along the lines of true nature, recognition of the ego and its will run very closely parallel to its teachings. it involves the enneagram but thats more surface and in the beginning. are there any spiritual teachings you do follow or that this knowledge stems from specifically or is it really just a general understanding type thing? i can save you some time and shoot you some links if youre interested, but i dont want you to think im trying to force feed you or anything lol. anyway im off to bed for now, keep me posted, ttyl
