What films do you want to see this year?

Poll added. If a film you want to see is not listed, you can mention it here. You can check as many films as you like. :)

I'm a bad film enthusiast. I haven't made my list yet, only skimmed the list on IMDB.

I'm such a movie nerd. I listed all the movies from last year that I saw and didn't get the chance to see, and also mapped out this entire year, all the movies I want to see from Jan. - Dec. :D

I have a few films to add:
  • Paddington 2
  • Black Panther!
  • Slenderman
  • Venom
  • Holmes and Watson
  • Ralph Breaks the Internet - Wreck-It Ralph 2
I also really want to see A Wrinkle in Time!
I've watched the trailer... I'm not entirely convinced it's going to be good, but it works with a brilliant premise. I love multi-dimensional thinking

So cool. I'm also going to start doing more movie reviews.
Please do! We could make threads on the films and each give provide our own perspective, that'd be cool :sunglasses:

One film on your list that I wanted to see but didn't was Split. I heard negative reviews so I ducked out. Now, I wish I had seen it. :(

Agree that we should have a movie review thread. I know there is already a thread on films recently watched, but not sure if that's the same. We could do a monthly movie thread, and then talk about movies released for each month. We can alternate starting the thread. Any other suggestions are welcome :)

Release dates differ a lot between countries. And it has become difficult to stream them ever since the new EU-law has taken effect. I haven't got around to do anything remotely illegal (stream-related) since then. So I thought we might see who watches which movie (and when) and after that, the person watching it opens the respective thread.

I haven't been watching most of them, because of what I just mentioned. The only ones I did watch were Homecoming and PotC 5 in a day or two. Actually I had planned on doing it yesterday :tearsofjoy::sweatsmile:

@Ginny @flufiang - The Fifty Shades movies: They are not as bad as everyone says. It's not a must have to see the films. It all depends on what you expect going in. Yes, they're over hyped but far more tame compared to the books they are based on.

Have only skimmed the first book but not really read any. No interest in those. it's not porn but yes, there are quite a few nude or sex scenes, but most are done tastefully and sensually rather than scenes of explicit, gratuitous sex. The BDSM aspects are pretty minimal. Most of the love scenes are in the context of two people finding interesting ways of enjoying each other as a couple. Too many people made more of those aspects of the film than it was. Again, it's not the book. At the end of the day, it's a committed but obsessive relationship between two people who want to be together, but have all these obstacles affecting them including family, previous relationships, or they're own reservations. That's the main conflict in a nutshell. Yes, their relationship is not an entirely healthy one but there are movies about serial killers out there so, these movies are not really that serious.

As I thought - not really worth watching then. I'd been thinking: if I'd wanted to watch porn, I could do that, instead of not-even-soft-porn. But actually, I don't like her and didn't want to destroy my image of Jamie Dornan back from OuaT.

Ah ok. Makes sense. I never knew the lead actors outside of this film, so didn't know what to expect.

I just get jealous and jealousy makes you nasty so I’d rather just avoid it :tearsofjoy: #single4life

Sorry I missed this but that's also true. :D It's hard not to wonder about having why or how you do or don't have the relationship they have. Wishful thinking. :)

I'm seeing Insidious: The Last Key tonight. Now, I'm not a fan of horror movies, because I know I'll get jumpy. Still recovering from Freddy. :D But I don't want to miss too many movies this year. So, I'm braving it. *walks forward nervously*
