What Are You Listening To Right Now (Part 15)

While Reggae Dancehall is my all time fave music, I can always find songs I like in any genre I come across.

(Edit: removed random sentence "the guy on the left looks like he's saying [ "I invented breakdancing foos"]")
Interesting band. I was homeless for a day and played (Edit: not Sing a Song) I'll Write a Song for You on repeat for hours while a viscous nose string slow, but surely, dribbled onto my arm (the other arm was jealous - I know it). Potent emotive tag that melodious trigger is. Such a long night ago of being cold in my car. The next day I joined a janky magazine troop and traversed the left coast from Sacramento to Bakersfield. Found out later the manager was a crack head. Do your homework kids!

Spotted @InfernoMink 's blog <-- warning!

First glimpse at that squinty meanster triggered gospel music. I'll take you there - Staple singers

Backup singers: I'll take you there
Mavis Staple: nah nah nah naoh
Backup singers: I'll take you there
Mavis Staple: Help me help me oh naoh
Backup singers: I'll take you there
Mavis Staple: Oh aaaaay oh aa-aa-aay I know uh plaaace uh...

You get the point.

Last year I dug so deep down the criminal pathology rabbit hole - came out the other side *pokes head out*. True story. Most are dangerously close to developing the Ramirez syndrome (a bad case of the deranged grrrs) than are willing to admit. I don't read/watch that stuff anymore. Top shelf scribbles mister!

Thoughts are welcomed. :m155:

Btw, here's my study music.

Blue Wednesday x Shopan - Directions [chillhop instrumental beats]
Starts with kind of a 90's improvisational keyboarding vibe.

I hear the word "high" in this song as referring to transcendance from self, or from daily concerns. Sort of like being elevated by love.

Tobias Sammet is as obsessed with Faustian pacts as I am. I can't get away from his music.

I particularly LOVE the this line:
"I lead the horse to the water and I make you drink."

And the chorus... always stuck in my head as a personal memento mori:
"Begging for a dance while your sands are running out
Rigid and firm's what I hold in my hands
Tick away time, I allot it, I divide
Master of the hands that guide you

Run if you can while the war drums ticking on
Ancient of days, I'm the shouldering pace
I will make you mine, I allot it, I divide
Master of the hands that push you"
