Perhaps, it's better not to be swept away but to love consciously and deliberately.

It isn't enough to have just the same amount of commitment but the same amount of determination to act on that commitment. I think it is one thing to feel committed to someone and having the ability to continually act upon that commitment---as in valuing and expressing things that strengthen your bond

Agree. It's one thing to feel, it's another thing to act on those feelings.
