I'm using Firefox 3.5 now, and some of the stuff it does without any plugins at all is amazing. I'm so used to flash for videos that I keep thinking there's a catch when a video plays without a plugin at all.

    see http://htmlfive.appspot.com/ using Firefox 3.5!

I don't know about others but I seem to be having less problems with firefox hogging memory. I'll have to see if this changes over time.

I am quite pleased with their decision to add in the video and audio tags. The next big hurdle is codec standardization. What I hope for most is that this will make people more aware of malicious media players that allow scripts to be run without a user's knowledge.

Although I am excited about the HTML5 tags, I was forced to uninstall Firefox 3.5 because of memory issues. Most of the time the browser would work correctly, but then suddenly it would eat up 1.2GB of RAM. I sent Mozilla a few reports about it so hopefully that gets fixed somewhere down the line. It seems not everyone has this problem so it might have to do with hardware and not the software itself.

Memory leaks are the one big problem facing Firefox right now, imo. I keep hearing people talk about it, but the updates don't seem to fix it at all.

There's no reason why three tabs should take 120mb of RAM when none of them have flash or java.
