For various reasons, I would just really like to find a political leaning that fits me, but lately I have been utterly lost and feeling like giving up on politics all together as I see it almost beyond what the real problems are and almost like cork's to pug into sinking ships when the fundamental and real causes for the ill's of the world are often kind of just denied and the cycle of hatred repeats, again and again.
So anyway, I really like Marxism and Socialism, at least on paper, but from many real life experiences I've had with liberalism, it doesn't seem so great in actuality which only makes me wonder.
Collectivism really kind of irks me, it just seems like surrendering to the tyranny of the masses and then simply, the large communist state has all the power and who only knows what the hell will happen afterwards. You pretty much just surrender yourself as an autonomous being from then on after and have no free-will or say in your own life.
The problem is I think group-think can honestly be a really terrible and dangerous thing, and not only that, but once the group mind takes hold, it becomes it's own entity in entirety and there is the capability of individuals causing all kind of terrible acts on behalf of the group, wherein rationality or reason is kind of left by the wayside and again it just turns into some kind of a tyranny.
So the fundamental problem with democracy and supposedly solving everything this why is that we all do not see eye to eye or can get along, not to mention we are not all the same. At least with individual rights, if a huge group of people is going to run off the cliff, one should have the ability not to follow or take part in doing so.
The one thing I wonder about capitalism though, does capitalism ever in itself serve to keep things adequately democratic and relatively "de-centralized" by breaking everything up, or does it just as much the same create a plutocracy either way.
I really like the idea of de-centralizing things a lot, having a bunch of different groups who do not agree on everything and all have to some degree a level of equal say because I think you just want to keep the group mind away a bit, and also be on guard for individuals who just want power, which centralizing only aids in this sense. And then of course, there would have to be some way for people to I guess compete if they wanted to. Unfortunately, no one has to be really rich or poor, but that's the thing, a lot of people I think are just naturally wired and predisposed to seeing things this way and cannot seem to go beyond it. I think that's why capitalism works so well, because it's just the way a lot of people see reality, even if it doesn't really make that much sense or is very practical anymore.
Everyone just hates everyone else and wants more/or power and cannot resist the temptation of materialism and contrived notions of "wealth" and even "abundance" even though, it's not really real anymore. The one thing I've always liked about America is that at least they respect individual rights, which is I think at least is partially the reason for their success and where the rest of the world seriously lacks.
Trying to take away things like individual rights is just a red-flag to me, for hidden pursuits of power, because collectivism makes it so easy (and centralizing) to control everything and gain power.
I mean if you look at democracy in the States, that's actually pretty close to what it exists as their, beyond all of the inequality and indentured plutocracy there. Likewise, I think the reason why a lot of people don't like communist or are scared of it, is simply because they want some shred of individual say in their life, so likewise I don't see why that is so hard to accomplish.

Here's some more thoughts..
- Capitalism often does not really have that much theoretical underpinnings behind it and are based on notions and assumptions that I think are completely often flawed, unrealistic and just not true and often only favor a select few of people and not only that, but I think it encourages and brings out the worst in human beings.
- It does seem quite a bit like human nature though, it seems like hardly anyone can really let it go and if you look at human nature, most of us are always trying to get power in some way or another and most thing revolves around this and thus it seems like science and the like take precedence. I know apes are always being compared to us and well,
- So if it's merely nature, well it seems like mostly human beings are very herd minded and hierarchy based, and thus, like in Wolves, Apes and other animals, there has to be individuals at the top ruling everything and this is outright always based on "power" or notions and perceptions of that.
- The best that we can go with social security is like some scant welfare, and maybe charity, like food kitchens for homeless or low income people, because most people are just too greedy for anything else. For capitalism to really work, there can only be a little bit money sparse for social aid and the like, otherwise the grand prize wouldn't be enough, and likewise, "power" wouldn't signify as much if you couldn't be drastically more wealthy then anyone else.
- It again just seems like human nature, you can try to put a damper on it but many people will still try to find a way to oppress and take more then they really need or deserve and a large portion of people will live in poverty as a result. (Look at Russian and China. China, still considers itself "communist" but if you look at their actions as a whole, they are very much that if at all. They are very much focused now on monetary gain and incentive)
- In my opinion, that's just really barbaric and primitive and it's sad that so many people cannot see beyond this.
- Everyone just wants power. Nature comes into play a lot, and for these reasons, "harmony" and "peace" are difficult achieve for this very reason.
- I think that if we took each other at an individual level first, and accepted individual rights more then we could co-operate on an individual level first and a group level last. But it has to be taken into consideration that we are not all the same. But seemingly, it's really hard to accomplish this, because again, if you've ever talked to a lot of people, they refuse to be rational, understanding or tolerant. We cannot meet or see each other at an individual basis.
- I think that to a degree, collectivism just doesn't work anymore and we've made too much progress in which, trying to go back to that just doesn't make sense anymore. We've made too much progress and not only that but the world has changed too much. We don't live in small tightly knight groups anymore and likewise, that is the reason why stopped and why capitalism caught on like it did, because too many people did not feel comfortable being a part of the group, and then everyone else got caught up in all of this, which is what we have now.
The one thing I wonder about capitalism though, does capitalism ever in itself serve to keep things adequately democratic and relatively "de-centralized" by breaking everything up, or does it just as much the same create a plutocracy either way.
