    Exactly. True Noon gives you the precise time. Not what some moron on the other side of the globe thinks it should be.

    Sounds like Roman Time.

    The Romans (and the RC Church) calculate time by dividing the day from sunrise to sunset. The Roman day has 12 hours irrespective of season. Ecclesiastical time gives its name to several prayer times: terce, sext, none etc.
