I got a feeling this is one of the things I haven't thought about;
It -is- related to boredom, I think (Indeed, the Google search for ennui brought results to Wikipedia article for Boredom instead) ? But...for some reason (linguistic?) it sounds more dooming, more mentally rotten than just pure boredom. But hell, let's talk about both.

And while I am so tempted to scream INTROVERTED SENSING, I understand that this is a psychological phenomenon that passes such small segments of a single person's totality, and every type must have felt, or at least aware of boredom and/or ennui at one point in their life. Also, I'm talking about the psychological state, not the personality factor. :)

So, Barrage of questions ahead.
Oh, throughout these, I'll keep referring ennui and boredom interchangeably, but if you think those two are different, do comment below? :D

What is your definition of 'ennui'?
What creates it? What do you think creates it?
When can you say that you had ennui?

What will ennui, or boredom lead to?

What is the difference between ennui and....
...apathy?
...'seen it all' attitude?
...cynicism?
...depression?
...wisdom?
...and, if you think both are different things, boredom?

Boredom; is it permeating through one's entire life, or do you think it's specialized / focused? (feeling bored towards work/school/love/family/etc?)
If you think it's focused; will it 'leak' through other aspects of someone's life?

What exacerbates ennui?
What cures ennui?
