The Top 10 Steps You Must Take To Use Anger Effectively


I thought this was a really good article. Especially #8.


1. If you feel anger coming on, never, ever, count to 10.

2. What is worse than suppressing anger for a 10-count is attempting to bury it forever.

3. Take responsibility for your rage.

4. Shout, “J’accuse!”

5. Don’t Forget: Righteous indignation must be righteous.

6. Draw a dark, BOLDFACE, line when expressing anger.

7. When angry do act in a deferential manner.

8. Avoid appeals to facts.

9. A teaspoon of incredulity helps the bile get accepted.

10. When you feel proficient with the preceding techniques, try amplifying detractors’ rebukes.

It's not 'dealing with'; it's dealing anger, no?

I know a slightly refined technique from a best friend of mine;

When you need to be angry, close your eyes and FEEL all the pain and anguish and anger this person in front of you had done to you; and UNLEASH IT.
Not pretty, to say the least.
