The trouble is that they are likely to tell people "I'm going on a cruise with VH". The person would be reported missing, and since the dock would be the last known place that victim was seen, it is likely the waters would be searched. If the body is found, it doesn't quite add up that you dropped victim off at the dock, nobody else was there to see it, then they end up dead in the middle of the water. You'd be pretty fucked.
It is far better if NOBODY knows that you're involved with victim at all. Far better that your name is never even brought up. I would agree that disposal of the body is prudent. No body, no murder. I would find a way to degrade the body down to bones only. Some sort of acid perhaps? Feed the pieces to animals? Drop pieces off in the water? Incineration? Once you have just the bones, I would mash the teeth into powder so dental records cannot be used to identify the body. Then scatter the bones in multiple different places.
You will need a remote location to work so that your disposal activities are not noticed.
If you don't want to risk fucking around with the body and getting their DNA all over yourself, your clothes, and your work location, then find out when victim will be in a place with no witnesses, and use gunshot wounds to the head. Use a silencer and pick up your shell casings. When you dispose of the gun, make sure there are no fingerprints on the unfired bullets, cartridge, or any other parts you may have touched while cleaning the gun. And burn the clothes you were wearing at the time of murder because there may be victim DNA on it.
It makes me want to hit the range and make sure I can still shoot in the 0.5 MOA range.
