Indeed, and such people don't take facts as an important piece of discussion. I seem to have stumbled upon it.
How do you like your head displayed? Pike, post, wooden stick, palace gate, White House lawn? The last time people were so ignorant as to think what you think, heads literally rolled and a short guy named Naploean waged war across Europe.
Laugh... and then one day you'll study up on your history and see it repeating itself. Shrinking middle class, expanding wealth gap, economy controlled by only the wealthiest... and I'm not talking about modern day America.
Age 20 years, then rejoin this conversation when you see how the world works, spits you out and leaves you for dead.

Show me the "rational argument" please. We've been making the same exact mistakes for 20+ years. At this point, our version of "rational" is based solely on habit and not logic. As I mentioned in the Education thread, an entire generation (proven by [MENTION=13855]JJJA[/MENTION]) growing up "not knowing any better" because it's been this way since their birth and always will be this way until they die.
97% of scientists say Global Warming is very real and we caused it. 3% deny it and people actually think there's a valid debate to be had?
Gay marriage is immoral and people are going to burn in Hell... no rational argument against it, just knee-jerk reactions.
Citizens United (in the US) removes campaign donation limits, allowing billionaires to donate more than an entire city of people - 1 person controlling 100,000 other votes.
All these things fit your description of Demagogue and all of them are the norm in US politics - Clinton, Bush, Reagan, you pick your name. Now is the first time in 100 years a self-proclaimed "socialist" runs, it's no wonder people are confused. The last people who recall what a socialist really is in this country, died receiving sub-par care in for-profit nursing homes that stole their pensions and replaced them with $90 chicken nugget and jello dinners.

I disagreed with your view that the Iraq war was illegal. I give you the facts in black and white, and an even further explanation regarding your accusation of the administration killing (I think you wanted to say murder) thousands of civilians, which you did not back up with a shred of evidence. In fact, none of your claims against my arguments are backed with any evidence. Most of the time, you go off on an irrelevant tangent of babble, talking about global warming and then making even bigger claims (without evidence) that we created several terrorists and organizations from our own 'mistakes'. You made so many claims without bringing any facts to the table, that I decided this thread was no longer worth my time. Misadventure hit the nail on the head when she called you a demagogue. The official Oxford dictionary definition of the word fits your claims and accusations and babbles to the letter. I tried to be reasonable in my statements, and did not resort to personal attacks of any kind. Yet, you insisted on spewing more accusations into our faces and decided it was wise to attack my age and use it as an example of 'not knowing any better.' Judging by the fictitious rantings you have presented to me, it would appear that I've displayed more knowledge and facts at a much younger age than you do at 38. All you've done is dance around the arguments I have presented to you, and kept to your own little circle of rantings instead of meaningful discussion in which everyone learns something. Now, because of you Lerxst, nobody will take anything constructive from this thread because you trashed it with your demagoguery. I used that word again because I know how much you love it. Please do not spread your brain-rot to another thread, it's like a virus.
