Is there a website or freeware software that can run analytics of text (such as txt files)? Or would it just be easier to go through the files (not too long) manually?

What kind of analytic software?

There are tons of web analysis programs.

If you are looking for something beyond that, many use grep/sed/awk in *nix. Knowledge of relative expression is required for your search queries.

Relative expression is definitely a good starting point for any sort of text analysis.

Maybe there are some specific software out there based on what you are wanting to do though.

Here is a PDF for an introduction to text based analysis, probably more info than you wanted, but still interesting!

thanks. let me expound on one specific scenario, though this is not the only one. mainly txt from websites. something that analyzes how much things have appeared, can average, etc. nothing i couldn't do by hand, but it would take a while.

In this scenario, i have links to all my cognitive process post results on this forum. i want to look for trends, take the average, highest functions, see how many of the same results occurred, etc.
does this make sense?
and really, thanks for answering ;)
