  • Heh heh Heh.... your rep comment really made me laugh. Thank you for helping me cope with it all.
Mhmm, it is very much the vibe you give off here ~ (sorry for the late response).

Hope you've been doing well RS.
Thanks for the rep. Were you simply making a comment or are you interesting in my opinion? Hope you are having a great day!
Because you have an open mind. And that's what it takes to be able to meet a client where they are at in their life. It suggests you'll be flexible enough to engage them and gain their trust. Many professors and professionals believe it is the person - the counselor - the social worker - that makes all the difference in a person's world. Not the resources. Not the evidence based therapies. If the counselor/therapist/social worker is not able to engage their client and get them to open up - all the advice - methods and action plans will be of no use. You will be able to engage with others very well with an open mind. :)
When one learns/is able to unite the two,
the result is nothing short of beautiful.
But on the idea of sex in the next life, I agree that even emotional entanglements may not be optimal. Nonetheless, I can conceive of both emotional and sexual forms of engagement, as is true in the present. Assuming that a post-mortem reality exists, of course.
It is quite unfortunate that many of us cannot see the qualities of paradise in front of our eyes. I, of all people, would know, since I do not regularly take optimal advantage of this realm of being.

I agree that there seems to be a serious neglect of the present in many religious ideas. And those ideas are readily present in many forms of Christianity, if not entire branches of it. As such, I seek to play my part in the present, even while I ask questions about paradise.

Because of the great dangers and fallacies of pursuing misperceived and harmful interpretations of religion and the Bible, as you've pointed out, I seek common ground, critique, and a variety of discussion from people, with or without religious conviction, since I can be easily blinded by a set way of thinking that may not even be grounded in a well-rounded understanding. Of course, my thread question may itself be non-optimal and may presuppose many ideas and goals which, after some discussion and thought, are not what I would prefer to preoccupy myself with, after all. But that, again, is the reason why I have put the question out there, as a general thought.

My current conceptions of a postmortem future involve a new earth that is possibly a continuation of the current one, with the added feature of "perfection".
I really hope I didn't upset you too much with that. You are an admirable grandson. I should have put your words into context with the nature of the thread as well as with what I've known to be characteristic of you, and left it alone. : (
I hope you can find it in yourself to forgive me, but it may have struck a nerve so it is understandable that you may not.
