Having lived in Texas for a good while, and experiencing some of the most surreal weather ever there
I'm pretty sure given the right conditions, a derecho/bomb cyclone could absolutely do that
Not 140 obviously but I could see spots registering that temp for various reasons

As for the others, they could be explained through ozone and wind oddities
Things are not perfectly uniform anywhere

I think many of the digital™ PDP mainframes were beautiful as pieces of art aside from their function.

Of course, later machines like Sun, and in particular, Silicon Graphics, really catch my fancy, but this video is pretty strictly old-school.
