I went down a rabbit hole watching this guy 6 months ago. Some truly funny videos. Some really weird setups. I enjoyed a lot of them.
Before I looked in it I thought this thread was something else.
Recently there was a controversial music video produced where the man who made it did a gay striptease on Satan's lap.
I don't get the controversy though to me the whole affair just seemed bland and uninspired. Maybe would have been edgy in 1996 but today it just blends in with the rest of the culture.

From a biblical standpoint, this rings true with the prophets predictions, so to speak, sadly. That the moral fiber of the world will only decay further and further to the point where bad becomes the norm, or even good and good is seen as bad. Pretty wild.

It doesn't mean I don't like you because you bring up great and valid points with all this.
There are certain situations where I could justify calling someone this. But in general terms I hate it.

That guy can't be serious. The way he speaks is like he's auditioning for a voice-over role in a movie and is "in character". Does he speak that way by himself at home? Does he recite these thoughts in that same deliverance in his head? In the shower?
I wonder if the girl in the background is his girlfriend... if so, it explains her bored and depressed look. I can imagine his overanimated question, "Honey, can you pass me the ketchup?"
And she just very sadly reaches over and grabs it. But before she lets go, she says, "You don't have to use the movie voice-over voice to ask for ketchup."
Then she lets go and looks down at her food.
Why did that entire scene play out in my head just now?
I dunno. I'm weird.

That was how I felt about that whole video and controversy, too.
When wasn't bad the norm? The Dark Ages? The Holocaust? WWI? Any of the dozens of genocides and wars, some religiously motivated? Any of the centuries certain people were oppressed and/or killed for existing? Humans are good at being bad.
Definitely, mankind - including those of 'faith' have been both culpable and capable of egregiously evil behaviour since mankind existed. You'll get no disagreement from me here. I'd even go a step further to say that people of faith carry an even greater responsibility because they know better than to behave badly.
But with that said, it goes without saying that modern culture, as a whole, has incrementally slid down the slippery slope, morally speaking, to the point where the things which were considered sins are now considered choices. The difference in the norm / morals over the last 70 years, since the 1950's, in example, are vastly different than those of today. That is the decline I was referring to in my original post.

@Misty – I don't think that's the case, though. Think of the discrimination in the 50s. We're also fed a version of the 50s that is squeaky-clean and idyllic. Society and entertainment were much more polite then, though. I do wish modern society was politer, but at the same time, one of the roles of artists is to push buttons.
I do agree Asa that some things like discrimination, especially racial, have made huge leaps, and thank God they have because it was indeed deplorable. As well as equality for women. Can you imagine a time when we couldn't even vote?
I also feel that in the 50's while the same sins were very much in existence, they may have seemed less prevalent because people hid them back then. Today these same things are openly accepted, normalized, and even praised while people of God are almost villainized for their faith. A reversal.. a slow turning upside down what is good and bad is what I refer to.
In the 50's if you said you were in an open marriage, in example, you'd get a lot more recoil from people than if you said you'd just been to church. I feel like things today are moving toward the opposite.
I wish we had the 50's manners too. It was lovely.. <3
