I smoke pot or drink only when I'm with a group of friends I trust; I'm very particular about my environment, and I promised myself to never drink or smoke alone. So it's mostly a social thing for me.
Of course, ever since I finished university, my hedonism has decreased exponentially. I go out fairly infrequently, and I don't seek out opportunities to get high or drunk. I'll have a glass of wine with dinner or a bottle of beer with my steak every once in a while, but I don't think that constitutes as "drinking."
