Happy New Year, Ria. I haven't been on infj for a while. It's a nice, funny coincidence when I came on here you had just left a nice hello this month. I think of you too. Hope things are going well.

    therapy question

Thanks for your responses Stella and Goldfinch. I think some of your posts are part of what got me thinking about this, Goldfinch. I also wonder if there tends to be a difference between couples therapy versus individual therapy, since the one time I found a therapist to seem interested...

    therapy question

Matariki, thanks for your response. Wow, you are lucky you can have a flexible amount of time, and 2 1/2 hours! In the U.S. most people's insurance will only cover 50 minutes every two weeks or so. You can schedule the sessions whenever you want, but you get enough sessions in a year to go a...

    therapy question

thanks u all! useful perspectives. I've been to a bunch of therapists over the years, usually very briefly, but only one of them directed the topics as much as I like. The therapist I recently started with seems to start the session by asking me what I want to talk about. When I said I hadn't...

    therapy question

I have a question for people who have been in therapy. Does your therapist direct the topics you talk about much? If youre not sure what to talk about, does s/he wait til you think of something or does s/he bring up topics s/he thinks would be useful for you to talk about? Which way do you...

    The deal-breaker

deal breakers- being too politically conservative or politically unaware being religious bad hygiene really bad housekeeping habits not living within means, taking financial risks not putting an effort into the relationship, not being basically considerate

    INFJ and ISTP

Hehe, I think it's sweet that Hotkebob wants us to INFJs to look at NTPs. Too bad I'm about 20 years too old for Hotkebob :) Well, I think with my ISTP I had more difficulty with T-ness than S-ness, but that would depend a lot on the person, if it even makes sense to think about it that way.

    Poll for Atheists

from an atheist here... I think that if you define it as "necessary" in the first place, it's kind of a contradiction to say it's impossible. That is if by "necessary" you mean that it necessarily exists. So I would disagree with the person who defines it as "necessary". But, maybe the answer...

    INFJ and ISTP

I can totally identify with a lot of what you described KorJax. The ISTP I dated was older- 46- and he is better about planning ahead. But the thing about talking to a brick wall is the same... . If I asked him how his day was at work, he could never think of anything to say. I think he...

Effects of cultural expectations on typing/cognitive function use

I think United States culture emphasizes E too much. How often do you see a help wanted add that asks for someone who's "extroverted" or "outgoing" and how often do you see one for someone who's "introverted"?

    INFJ versus ISFJ

MacGuffin, just wanted to say I read your post. Probably other people can give you better answers about the differences between ISFJ and INFJ. One characteristic I think of is S as more oriented toward art or physical appearance. I don't have any interest in fantasy as a genre of literature...

falling in love with our counterpart

Hmmm, the more "complete" you are, the less you can fall head over heels... that's kind of sad I think... I want to imagine that the more you develop yourself the better falling in love would feel somehow.

Hi Ria, Nice to hear from you. I haven't been coming on the forums as addictively/frequently as before but I still poke around now and then. Just keeping occupied with school, work, etc. It's nice to know you're back on here.

The longest relationship I've had was with an INFP. I tested as an INFP then too.

    INFJs and attachment

That is a nice way to say it flowerz. I'm sure you will find a significant other if it's what you want.
