Is the ENTP-INFJ thing a mirage?!

I had an amazing evening on a dinner date with an ENTP last night. She's a roommate of a friend who I had become friends with over time. we became attracted to each other because we realized we could read each other in ways that felt uncanny... so what you say seems right, at least in my only...

    Classic films depicting introversion

The first character I thought of was Norman Bates in Psycho. I'm not sure how much explaination this example needs. He clearly cannot figure out how to connect with others and is very secretive. I really like the bird of prey imagery that Hitchcock associates with him over the course of the...

    Father/Child relationship.

Share one good memory about him: He is very giving in a material way. Share one bad memory about him: He has no concept of emotion. If he wasn't involved in your life, why? He was involved in that he an my mom stayed together until 2 years ago, so I lived with him until I left for college...

    INFJs and fits of guilt

So... I was raised Catholic. I've got more than a little guilt, I'd say. I know joking about Catholics and guilt is way beyond cliche at this point, but for me the cliche is absolutely accurate. I'm an INFJ with an under-developed F, which has caused me, mostly in the past, to be emotionally...

    Thoughts about death

I couldn't have said it better myself... Premature death does frighten me immensely because it disrupts the process, the pursuit. The most unsettling part of death to me is its unfairness -- some people die far too early and for no apparent purpose.

    What Beatles Tune are You?

I was really hoping I'd be "Cry Baby Cry" such a fantastic song..... You are Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds You are creative, imaginative, and more than a little trippy. You see the world with an artist's eye. Sometimes the craziest little details inspire or amuse you. You can get lost in your...

NFs Do you compromise your identity?

Oh yeah... I have so many masks, I get confused about which one I'm wearing.... Other people get pretty confused too.

    are you friendly?

I think it has a big effect on how you are perceived by people, esp if they are "plugged into" the "standard" society that is so ubiquitous... Personally, I don't judge if someone is not making eye contact with me. I usually assume it helps them think if they don't have someone peering into them.

    are you friendly?

Do you consider yourself friendly? Do you smile when you order lunch/coffee? Do you keep eye contact with people who pass you when walking, maybe say "Good morning/evening"? Do you try to keep conversation going with strangers/acquiantances? I understand that these aren't behaviors that are...

How do you feel about flirting

I was recently pondering this too. I decided I feel like I'm not good at flirting because I don't do it as early on as a lot of other people. I mean, I usually wait until I know the person. I think waiting helps me guess the kind of flirting that will be most effective with a particular...

    Do you have any insecurities?

I'm insecure about whether or not my friendship is something beneficial to another person. I worry that they put up with me for whatever reason -- it's different from person to person. It's quite sad, I don't think I felt this way until a few years ago...

    Conversation skills

I agree with you, it bores me too. But are you sure there are social rituals that you can articulate that people know to follow? Sometimes I wonder if what bores me about talking is that there is not some interesting underlying forms or rules (except for the construction of language itself)...

    Anyone in therapy?

I started therapy more than 2 years ago. I started therapy because I was having trouble separating fantasy and reality. I was denying my girlfriend at the time access to my thoughts and emotions while I was holed up in my fantasy world. That situation fell apart and I was in denial about what I...
