Why America loves a braggart

I think there are valid reasons to question Trumps popularity. However there are larger and more questions related to Hillarys popularity. There are good things about Trump like the fact he cant be controlled by anyone not least of which are the lobbyists. I question what his intention is. Does he want to actually help America or just put another notch on his belt?
Theres no choice in who I am going to vote for however Trump has made it an exceptionally difficult meal to digest. JJJA you are an intj and I find it hard to believe you are such an avid supporter of Trump. Is it Trump you like or do you just want to make sure we dont get another America hating liberal?

It's either I have to be completely against him, or an 'avid supporter of him'. I am neither, but do you honestly see yourself voting for Hillary? Well, neither do I, so there it is.

Hillary is not a liberal, she's an advocate for a much larger state; Bernie is similar in his collectivization policies. Hillary doesn't mind centralizing herself in such a state to gain powers to erode the Constitution for the purposes of Identitarian ideology.

Ok that I understand. It just seems like you are avidly for Trump in the way you make reference to him.

I make reference to him in a number of ways, but it is not my problem that so many people choose to design an image of Trump which is based off of nothing but anti-intellectual collages of smear, slander, pander, branding, and demagoguery. He just appears to me to be honest and intelligent and successful. That is already three things that Hillary has failed to achieve; particularly within her political ventures (she has led no other life other than that of a politician) that include the scandal of Benghazi in-which she preferred to blame a satirical film on Muslim murderers than the acts of her own associates in the region. Completely scandalous. Trump has not been plagued with such intensity, and the only plague that is against his ilk are the very people I want to see political destroyed.

True but...he makes that easy.

True but...he makes that easy.

Still not his problem. It is indeed very easy to offend people, but saying "I am offended" provides no refute of his claims, and people that have decided to engage in the slander against his character whilst refusing to address the issues that he brings up because of ill-informed preconceptions are the people at the heart of the problem with society today. I am still waiting to hear their argument, and that is the attitude Trump has decided to adopt, and I am damn fine with it.

I'd elect you before I'd elect Trump. I'm not even kidding. Hillary is right out but I'm not going to have a hand in putting either one in office.

I do not believe that it has to be one or the other because by making that choice I become complicit either way. I refuse to be complicit.

Trump needs to end his ridiculous conspiracy theories (birther for example) and start getting down to brass tax about the hardcore issues, which I hope to see him sort out in the coming weeks.

Good Luck.

I find it interesting that even after he had all but defeated Ted Cruz in the primary he was still repeating ridiculous conspiracy theories about Ted Cruz's father being involved in the JFK assassination. So if you think that one second he is going to stop spouting his kind of unsubstantiated nonsense, sadly, JJJA you are mistaken.

He also needs to evaluate his 'Muslim ban' policy to make it more adaptable to the Constitution; i.e. providing more checks without religious discrimination.

He isn't going to do this either, because he doesn't understand the Constitution, otherwise he would not have made such a ridiculous proposal in the first place.

Trump is going to be President, and you all need to start wondering why so many people are going out and voting for him

Ok enlighten me. Why are so many people voting for Trump? Don't even try to blame this on Liberals, political correctness, or Obama - I've heard all those arguments and to be quire frank they are laughable. Trump will not be president. If you think the same coalition that voted for Obama is going to breakdown and he going to get votes from Hispanics, Blacks, white Liberals or women you just haven't been looking at the polling data. 30% of the Republican base isn't enough votes to win in a general -- sorry.

He just appears to me to be honest and intelligent and successful

Is this a joke? Appears to honest? He lies all the time, as Ted Cruz has stated, Donald is a pathological liar. He lies so much he no longer can discern the truth. How much is Donald Trump worth? $1.7 billion? $6 billion? 10 billion? as he claimed in his presidential filing?

What about Trump U? A total fraud, not even a university, and that only one of his ventures and his business dealing that is being called into question. Preying on vulnerable gullible suckers who thought he had he key to success? This is a man who has a character to lead the powerful nation on earth? No way.

For better or worse, Trump is the only candidate who offers some departure from the stagnant status quo, which is almost universally uniform among most Western countries. He is the only candidate for those who have been fed up for a long time.

A better candidate for this function would be preferable, but those candidates never see the ballot box, for lack of support, funding, and tenacity.

A Trump presidency may indirectly achieve a very important and enduring outcome: a change in the type of politicians who are presented to the electorate. The day of "the system" player-candidates may be put on hold for a couple decades.

Why wouldnt you elect JJJA? The people who have been President for the past 28 years have hardly been Presidential. Nothing special about them except they knew how to kiss ass to the right people to get elected. I would elect a bum on the street face down in his own puke long before I would ever elect Hillary.

I am sick to death of hearing how Trump is better than Hillary and how is the only candidate who is going to blow up the establishment. Its all garbage. Trump won't reform anything when he gets into office. He can't change the system because it doesn't understand the system. He won't change the system in many fundamental ways because he supports the status quo. He is a Silvio Berlusconi or a Rob Ford. He isn't unique. He has no plan of action, and a Trump presidency. like the administrations of Ford and Berlusconi will be a dramatic failure.

Agreed, Trump isn't equipped to change the system, but he will signal that system players have had their time.
I will guess that the president, who succeeds Trump's successor will be a reformer. Trump isn't equipped to be a reformer, he is just the mould breaker.

As for your feelings about expectations regarding Trump; that's the feeling dinosaurs had looking at the dust cloud thrown up by a large meteor impact.

Well, I certainly intend to do more to avoid complicity than to simply cast a vote. All I honestly wish for the United States is a complete end to the nanny-state, an end to Fabian Socialist economic policies that simply mean higher taxes and lower wages. I want the United States to actually view Republicanism via its Jeffersonian roots, not some Christian-right Theocratic festival for all of the GOP's disgusting ilk. The Republican Party needs a new face, and I certainly want it to be somebody better than Trump, but I shall still urge Americans to tactically vote for Trump to remove Hillary's rise. The Founding Fathers were deists, highly intelligent, and exceptional in the handling of statecraft management. Jefferson himself was a very principled diplomat that valued fairness and the Constitutional freedoms to such an extent that he was accused of being a non-believer and an Atheist while President because of his stance toward the separation of church and state.

These values need to be re-addressed to the public in a way that denies the Christian authorities the right to claim ownership over American laws and values on the sinister basis that it was 'founded on Christian values'. Utter nonsense. The same goes for Muslims that prefer to bomb our cities instead of integrating as American citizens, and anybody making excuses for such bombing need only look themselves in the mirror in order to witness the cause of the forest fire. Terrorists will eventually meet the steel rod of an American rifle for all I care. We should have been more ruthless in Afghanistan.

Apologies for going off-topic.

Flavus Aquila You are sure about that are you? I think your confidence is misplaced, the dinosaurs on the right of political spectrum not the left.

To this JJJA I can only say "That which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence"

Your automatic dismissal of any criticism of left-wing ideologies leads me to suspect that any evidence-based discussion is a lost cause. It is also ironic that you suddenly care so much about evidence...

It's to make the point that Trump's ideals are not the reason I don't want him. I do not think he has the proper character.

A President needs to be made of more than intelligence and policies. A President also needs to unify people, not set them upon each other.

That won't be solved if Trump ends up pissing off all the people that need to help him solve it.

Edit:
And seriously, if Trump plays this poorly there, instead of breaking the government free of religion he could end up making it so that an atheist will never get elected instead.

Humans are fickle creatures. Even IF Trump had the right ideas he still needs to get the right people behind him. Being correct is not enough to be right in this world. It's not enough to say "let them bring proof that I'm wrong" because people don't care about bringing proof since they're irrational individuals.

Trump can't just magically fix the establishment because the ability to do so depends entirely on how people relate to him, and not on his intelligence or competence.
