Dillinger was known as a "modern day Robin Hood" in his time as he always robbed from the wealthiest banks and establishments and didn't harm civilians unless absolutely necessary. It is estimated he robbed two dozen banks and four police stations and he escaped from jail twice. He was hunted down by Melvin Purvis and shot three times trying to escape. He was killed by one of the shots that went through his neck and out his face.

George "Machine Gun Kelly" Barnes

Machine Gun Kelly was known as such because of his "favourite weapon" the Thompson Submachine Gun. This name spread fear for some time but he was not as rough and tough as people thought. His second wife Kathryn Thorne, a criminal herself, was responsible for creating the image which she fed vigourously. After his arrest for the infamous kidnapping of oil tycoon Charles Urshel (for which he got $200,000 ransom) he was sent to Alcatraz where he gained the nickname "Pop Gun Kelly". This name was due to the discovery of his good behaviour and friendly demeanour even in prison. He died of a heart attack on July 18th 1954.

Al Capone

The often parodied Capone was the crime boss of the gang known as the Chicago Outfit. He ran the underworld and raked in over $100 Million per year through his casinos, speakeasies. Capone's could often be found at the Lexington Hotel or his 14-room retreat on Palm Island, Florida. He was well like by the public for the services he provided and only became disliked after "The St. Valentines Day Massacre" After this he was investigated closely by FBI agent Eliot Ness and was eventually indicted for tax evasion in 1931. After he was released from jail he went through a series of illnesses that no longer allowed him to run The Chicago Outfit and he died of cardiac arrest in 1947.
