I'm not ashamed of the music I like, but among friends I might be careful about revealing liking something as kitschy as this. Not because they'd make me feel like it's a guilty pleasure, but rather because if they reacted with derision, I might dislike them them for it.

With grown-up ears I can easily hear how clichéd the song is, but it stirs up some feeling of being just a child who's starting to discover how wonderful creatures girls are, and how it's a bit scary to like someone because then they can hurt you.
