Private Minecraft Server.

Hallo everyone ^_^

So, over the past 2 days I've been trying to create a Private Minecraft Server but I haven't had much success.
I was hoping someone could give me some help with this?

Ive tried downloading the "Minecraft_server.exe" file from the Minecraft website and followed the instructions on the website but I haven't got very far with it.
I would appreciate some guidance and help if possible :D

Let me know if you get one going I love minecraft.
 
I got one up and running on my old laptop (supports a whopping 4 players :) ) There are so many things that could or couldn't go wrong with it though, that it's difficult to figure out what isn't working unless you have some type of an error message to go along with it.

Overall, it's a pretty easy server setup though.

If it is on your WAN/LAN you should connect to "localhost:25565". Otherwise connect to it using IP Address":25565" (note I'm assuming you keep the default 25565 port).

If you have set it up through a WAN in your house also make sure 25565 is open on the router, in and out.

You may also need to add the minecraft username to the server 'allowed' list.
