we have an interesting alignment coming up though I am hoping we get the lower estimate scenario on this... and thankfully solar maximum starting to recede a bit with the new year

There has been a lot of talk in some circles about this year being expected to be a big one for earthquakes and volcanoes. Supposedly there is a super volcano somewhere near Russia, China, Japan, and the Philippines that is over due however nothing is turning up on the search.

Feel free to add anything you have found on this, it could be related. I've seen interesting hypothetical stuff (and not so hypothetical with Yellowstone) though not sure what to make of it all just yet other than some interesting new directions in this research.
