internship/volunteering for 3 months

Hello.
I want to do an internship or volunteer somewhere for ~3 months. I'm not sure if I'll just do it in my local area (Germany) or use it as chance to visit another country. I want to do something in the psychological/social area. Does anyone has experience with that (like first time volunteering in another country) or can recommend me something interesting/educational (so no making coffee).

I did a "volunteer" program in India for 1 month a few years ago (I put that in quotations because, although they called it volunteer, I didn't actually do anything), but the experience of living in another country but with the structure of a program was awesome. I highly recommend going abroad if you can- if you go somewhere very different from your country, it's like being in a different world and you get to experience a completely different way of life.
