That is fairly true. As of recently (and by recently I mean the past year) I've generally had music drown out my inner monologue. I do miss those evenings of complete silence, I may have to return to them.
 
With it just being my son and myself, it stays pretty quiet in the house. I need this. I have the tv drown out everything. I tried sitting in quiet and I just about drove myself nuts. It's bad enough if you leave me alone for too long, I am analyzing whatever is in front of me. LOL
