Surely not science altogether. I like having antibiotics, airplanes and mod cons... It's more about how the scientific community is losing it's credibility and how that's affecting policies and popular opinion. How claims that don't have the backing of the scientific community are sometimes taken by the public with equal face value. I think it raises good questions, because we need a way to get reliable information from experts. And hopefully experts that agree on what that is. I think new breakthroughs are made by questioning current findings but if they have merit they will become the accepted by the scientific community once there's enough evidence to support them...like Quarks for example. I just thought that it was an insightful look at the problem of scientific credibility and very current problem of people being subjected to vast amounts of contradicting evidence presented to them as valid science. I personally don't think science can explain everything or is even equipped to do that because of it's empirical nature but as science goes I'd like to know what is the generally accepted explanation and exactly how much does the scientific community agree on it. We have to have a way of getting the most valid information to function as a society.
Science makes life too easy and ruins God's gift of natural selection.

Well that is what I am saying. Something better should be thought up that explains the unexplainable and then science can be thought of as something from antiquity. I tend to find most science explained in incredibly boring and non-applicable (to my life) ways and that is probably part of the problem. The newest science news that gets to my doorstep is also depressing things like bigger bombs, remote airplanes that can shoot me, and viagra. All things I dont want or need.
