I sympathize with the content-creator's misanthropic sentiments on some level. There are things that people do which drive me up the wall. As a matter of course, I've simply taken to not engaging outside of certain contexts. There are times when I'd rather be left alone.

As for compelled gift-giving, I don't like that. I'm going to make sure that my gift-giving remains inconsistent and surprising.
