I recently stumbled upon a concept that immediately piqued my curiosity, and I thought this would be the perfect place to discuss it.
While browsing Spotify, I came across their official "Binaural Beats" playlists for focus, sleep, and more. Intrigued, I started doing a bit of research on the topic. The idea that we could potentially "guide" our brains towards a desired mental state (relaxation, focus, etc.) simply by listening to specific frequencies through headphones is quite fascinating.
Today is my very first day testing it out, so I don't have any personal experiences to share yet. But as I've been digging into it, a specific question for us INFJs came to mind: are we, with our very particular profile, particularly receptive to this kind of stimulation?
I'm particularly thinking about our dominant Ni (Introverted Intuition), which often makes us very connected to our internal states and sensitive to atmospheres. Does this tendency towards introspection and sensitivity make us good candidates for binaural beats? Or, conversely, is our often-active mind more resistant to them?
For those who are new to this, here's a brief summary of what I've understood about the role of each type of brainwave:
I would really love to hear your experiences.

For those who are new to this, here's a brief summary of what I've understood about the role of each type of brainwave:
- Delta Waves (1-4 Hz): Associated with deep, dreamless sleep. The goal is total recovery.
- Theta Waves (4-8 Hz): The state of deep meditation, intense relaxation, and heightened creativity.
- Alpha Waves (8-13 Hz): This is the state of relaxed wakefulness, the so-called "flow" state. Ideal for stress-free learning or letting your mind wander creatively.
- Beta Waves (14-30 Hz): The state of active concentration, alertness, and logical thinking. Perfect for working on a specific task.
- Gamma Waves (30 Hz+): The state of "hyper-performance," rapid information processing, and high consciousness.
