He's straight.
She's gay.

My love will never be returned.

Oh, tales of loving* the wrong person;
such a gloriously tragic vision.
Of someone chasing a vague illusion,
Praying for a lesser connection.

It was originally about gender barriers, but guess gender is not the sole reason.
But I do wonder about other factors, does any create such unbreakable prison?

Here I am, openly wondering;
After one too many wailing.
Give words of advice, or scolding
Or a prayer, or a retelling?

As far as forlorn love is concerned,
love that has no hope to survive;
what words should be discerned
for the lovestruck to live?

....and I accomplish another silly feat. Yay me *lame*
Anyway, tl;dr version; this is after seeing one too many "OMG I'M IN LOVE WITH A STRAIGHT" in my local gay forum; how do you comfort / advice someone who fell in love with someone with the opposite sexual orientation? And are there any other factor which can ultimately halt someone's advances as much as sexual orientation?

*BACKGROUND DROP (warning; Cultural differences alert); I assume in English the right words would be 'infatuated', 'attracted', or 'crushing for'. Also, I would say the possibility of having a sexual fling is far less to happen here, so add a huge dose of depression-based stupidity / lack of judgement...I suppose
