Stretching does help a lot too. World l of difference...
in my experience, ability to stand for extended periods of time doesn't have as much to do with overall "in-shape" condition as most think; when i worked retail, i was in one of the best shapes of my life, and still my legs/feet ached for about a week, adjusting to 9hrs standing.
You get used to it though. Just get you some good, padded shoes.

Oh, I'm totally straight! Maybe that's why I've been so bold with my flirting. I don't really flirt with anyone, mostly out of fear that I'll end up hurting someone or leading them on. But I had never flirted with a girl before, and I figured since you knew I was straight, you'd just assumed I was being punchy. Hehe. Now I feel dumb for assuming.. you know what they say about people who assume?! >_<
Comfortable shoes. Everyone's feet are different. The two kinds I swear by are the Dr. Scholl's Jamie Sneaker and the Coach Jayme Signiture Sneaker. Kinda interesting... didn't know they were both 'jamies' until I look 'em up for you! They're worth trying on. Those two shoes are the only kinds I'll wear for a 13 hour shift at the hospital. Nothing else has worked for me.
