    *beyond theism

This is exactly it. I don't mind the message that he's preaching, but I certainly don't believe that this is at all the only message that Jesus laid out for humanity. They've basically twisted the original doctrine to become more appealing to potential followers that are living in this time...

    *beyond theism

For the first video: Then why call it God? Why not just call it life? Life itself doesn't have the power to give you anything that a god is supposedly supposed to be able to offer you, such as "eternal life" which is central to the faith of the Episcopal Church (John Shelby's denomination)...

It's probably a mix of NT and the amount of users on INTJf vs. INFJf, I would think.

Hey! Look at that! :) I don't really know why I decided to join. I lurked around a little here and there and finally decided to put in my 2 cents. I completely agree with the less headbutting. However, INTJf is still my fav...can't help it.

    Is Atheism a belief?

Seems to apply to: I lack a belief in <this thing nobody's told me about yet>. So how about this: I lack a belief in <this thing nobody's given me sufficient reason to believe exists yet>. Does this mean I believe <this thing nobody's given me sufficient reason to believe exists yet>...

    Is Atheism a belief?

IMO, yes. The lack of specificity is ironically very specific. It's quite descriptive regarding the atheist's attitude. It's a lack of belief, and it is not one in which we ponder often. The only reason we are forced to really think about it is because we are forced to investigate...

    Is Atheism a belief?

Really? I haven't. But then, I guess the only thing to do is use atheism and then add the descriptors "weak or strong" and "agnostic or gnostic." The term "atheism" in and of itself doesn't say very much when it stands on it's own.

    Is Atheism a belief?

I guess antitheist could be described as somebody "actively against" theism, so how 'bout nontheist?

    What is crazy?

This is why I gave up religion. The books that religions are based off of are so open to interpretation and contradictory that it just made it impossible for me to believe anymore. I'm not saying that everybody should or anything, but misinterpretation is exactly where the danger lies. There...

    Kierkegaard and Christianity

    Kierkegaard and Christianity

Yes that was already corrected, but it doesn't really change anything. Both were unaware of (not hard in Kierkegaard's case) the other, yet still focused on the same concepts. They just arrived at different conclusions. I think that's kind of the point. Kierkegaard argued that the "general...

    Kierkegaard and Christianity

Isaiah 66:24, “And they will go out and look on the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind.” As for the Greek/Hebrew-English translations, many people seem to...

    Kierkegaard and Christianity

From my notes on the documentary "Hell: The Devil's Domain." The Old Testament contains only fleeting and indirect references to Hell. Sheol, the Hebrew abode of the dead is sometimes compared to modern conceptions of Hell, but in reality, it is quite different. Sheol is synonymous with...
