You Said Patterns? Let's Play a Game!

Have you all heard of Tibetan deity yoga? The practice is meditating while visualizing a god or goddess' field of consciousness, while allowing the deity to inhabit your body: so you feel as they feel, and you see the world through their eyes. My teacher explained it like you are a dirty sponge...

I created a new personality test and I'm looking for feedback

Cool! I actually got a statistics minor because I got so into personality testing. Obviously, you need to collect data first, but have you thought about how you are going to test the validity and reliability of your construct?

    Religion is my "Thang"

@meowzician do you have any recommendations for religious texts or concepts to look into? I love learning about different religions. I've gotten a lot from studying the Daodejing, the Upanishads (Vedic), the Poetic Edda (Norse Mythology). Is there anything from especially Judaism that you...

    Metamodernism

I've figured out why I might be "metamodern" but also disagree with some interpretations of "metamodernism". I feel like I'm a very "meta" person, in the sense that I resolve dilemmas by going to a higher level. Like in sports, there is "the game", which is normally about winning, exercising...

Interactive Daodejing Audiobook with Seal Script Translation

That's my favorite too! I found out about Daoism from Jonathan Blow's game, The Witness. in the game, you travel around an island solving puzzles. There are little audio logs you can find, and my favorite was Chapter 11 from the Daodejing, so I read the whole thing.

I do not understand Bayes Theorem

For me, these simple probability games are the best way. They are simple enough to model, you learn real skills you can then apply to harder problems, and you can try guessing with your normal intuition and see how it preforms to the the statistics. I'm also very visual so I like things I can...

You Said Patterns? Let's Play a Game!

@meowzician I just finished and posted a thread: https://infjs.com/threads/interactive-daodejing-audiobook-with-seal-script-translation.40167/ Also to get back to the pattern game, a pattern I notice is sequential vs parallel. For example, algebra is sequential and linear, but geometry is...

I do not understand Bayes Theorem

@Fruiteloop Would you be okay with starting with a simple probability game, like flipping a coin or rolling a dice, or do you have a simple project from your personal life where you have a constant stream of data?

Interactive Daodejing Audiobook with Seal Script Translation

If you can't tell by my username, I love Daoism (also spelled Taoism)! I created this interactive UI so I can listen to Wayne Dyer's translation while studying the meaning of the original Chinese. I also included small seal script which is an older version of Chinese that was more pictorial, and...

I do not understand Bayes Theorem

@Fruiteloop here is an old notebook I made when he released that video. https://observablehq.com/@laotzunami/primers-coin-game You were talking about normal distributions. I'm doing my calculation using a beta distribution, which is great for a binary outcome like flipping a coin. Since we...

You Said Patterns? Let's Play a Game!

I'm actually working on a translation of the Dao De Jing, which is exactly about this! I really want to post it now, but let me wait until it is finished, and then I'll post a thread. When we talk about evil, kind of like when we talk about the divine, it is easy to use the same word by mean...
