Clinton vs Trump, Trump vs Clinton

The only acceptable sign to be seen anywhere

Funny! I think I have lost the plot! Someone please help me to understand....I thought "realistically" there are only two "viable" options ie Trump or Clinton? I'm sure I read somewhere on this thread that a vote for Johnson and Stein is essentially a vote for Clinton? Is this true - not sure how it all works so would appreciate some clarification? Thank you.

It is true that a third party vote is a wasted vote at this point. The election is a week away and no third party has obtained large enough support to overtake Trump or Clinton. We will unfortunately end up with one of these two clowns whether we like it or not. My point, which is a shared sentiment among many US citizens is that neither candidate is fit for the job. Neither candidate represents the American people well. You will find this sentiment from Democrats and Republicans alike. Of course, many people are all about their candidate still, but disdain for both has been a growing sentiment.

Thank you @Wyote. This is the first time I've ever taken any interest in US politics so appreciate your input and clarification. Hmmmmm two clowns huh......?

From everything I read, the FBI chief James Comey is/was highly thought of. I think he may have been 'set up' himself. Despite the idea that there are 650,000 emails, in reality to scan them for 'keywords' or links, who did they go to, receive from, would not take long on a moderate level, given the incredible computing power available. It could be done in hours not days. So any obvious 'smoking gun' could be found very quickly. Clearly a human investigation of each would take much longer, and ironically may be far less accurate.

I think the best thing Hillary Clinton could do now, would be to ask the Democrats to drop any legal action against Comey (unless there is very solid proof of misconduct) and commit to fully cooperate with any investigation after the election. It would contrast with Trump's refusal to accept a democratic ballot result, before it's even taken place. She is going to win now anyway, unless there is something much much more than a smear/rumor.

My intuition is that Comey is an honest guy, caught up in the middle of something, trying to do his duty. He has been slaughtered by Republicans leading up to this. It probably had an effect on him, he's only human. I hope democrats and republicans would agree if she really has done something illegal, it needs due process and appropriate action. Not a free pass or a lynch mob. It worries me that there appears a level of division in both the UK and USA I have not observed before, and to me it's dangerous and needs to stop.

It could affect pizza production, and that would send shockwaves through my household.. I'm kidding. I have been pizza free for at least a week, despite special offers..
Shes goinv to win now anyway? Guess you have not been following the news. And what is this "If" shes done something wrong. Proven fact she broke the law. Unquestionable. Guilty of espionage as a minimum.
And here is where the real problem starts.
Im sorry but anyone suggesting anything other than that is deliberately misleading people. This isnt an opinion thing, its fact.

New Podesta Email Reveals Strategy for Rigging Polls by ‘Oversampling’
Alexa EricksonOctober 27, 2016

Hillary.jpg

This past Sunday, the latest ABC/Washington Post poll showed a 12-point national polling in favor of Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. This poll, along with various other recent polls from the Washington Post, Reuters, and ABC, has shown a 9-percentage point sampling bias toward registered Democrats, causing an uproar of speculation.

[...]

And to really expose just how rigged the polls are, the latest Podesta emails, which were just released by WikiLeaks, show in disturbing detail just how to “manufacture” the hoped-for results from a certain poll. The email correspondence exposes the request for recommendations regarding “oversamples for polling” in order to “maximize what we get out of our media polling.”

One email said, “I also want to get your Atlas folks to recommend oversamples for our polling before we start in February. By market, regions, etc. I want to get this all compiled into one set of recommendations so we can maximize what we get out of our media polling.”

And among some of the most damaging materials was an attachment of a 37-page guide. One instance revealed that, in Arizona, the oversampling of Hispanics’ and Native Americans’ populations was highly recommended:

“Research, microtargeting & polling projects
– Over-sample Hispanics
– Use Spanish language interviewing. (Monolingual Spanish-speaking voters are among the lowest turnout Democratic targets)
– Over-sample the Native American population”

And in Florida, the report discusses “consistently monitoring” samples for ensuring they’re “not too old” and “has enough African American and Hispanic voters.” The report even acknowledges that national polls over sample “key districts/regions” and “ethnic” groups “as needed.”

“– General election benchmark, 800 sample, with potential over samples in key districts/regions
– Benchmark polling in targeted races, with ethnic over samples as needed
– Targeting tracking polls in key races, with ethnic over samples as needed”

Many of the Podesta emails give clear insight into why the mainstream media has refused to report on the most damning allegations against Clinton — with this latest revelation simply affirming the reality that the “consent of the governed” is, in reality, nothing more than manufactured consent by one group that holds total power.

BTW, I know how to hack the forum server. When we elect "buddy of the year 2016", I am going to win by a landslide. :m081:

Now the polls are apparently putting them shoulder to shoulder. Is this real?

Well, Pepper, that depends on, in which universe you live. What polls are you referring to?

I think my post has upset you ? I'm surprised, as I think some democrats would hate it. I've said if Hillary Clinton broke the law it needs to be dealt with. You surely don't object to that ? I'll go further. Even if she didn't the facts need to be clearly established.

I think James Comey is taking unfair criticism. I think the entire thing seems murky. But not based on his record. I think he's trying to do the right thing, if that's remotely possible. Honestly I think republicans are really angry with themselves for letting Trump win the nomination.

None of it its my fault. I think she'll likely win. I think you're angry, as you do as well, and also, you probably have grave doubts about Trump yourself. My honest view is you'd probably make a better President than him. I've tried to be balanced. Honestly tho ? What Trump said pre and post Brexit ? Totally out of order. So was Obama. No bias, I'm anonymous on a website. Not a President, or candidate to be one.

Yes I am angry. Is that a surprise? We have a person running for President who has broken the law and EVERY American should care about that. Our country is on the brink right now, and the fact that this has played out like it has shows we are never coming back. Our country is lost. Its just a matter of time before anarchy takes hold.
So yeah, just a little upset.

You're an intj tho so I guess my expectation is you'll focus on the issues. On how to work on the the things that unite your country. If she's broken law, it belongs in court. My belief is she may have behaved badly but skirted around the law. That doesn't make it ok.

Tell me I'm wrong about Trump ? I genuinely think the Republicans deserved a much better candidate. After this? I'd suggest James Comey wouldn't be the worst prospect. He's taking all the heat. This could well end his career and ruin him. He did it anyway.

Honestly I have a little more faith in America than I think you do right now, but I get why you're angry. In post Brexit Britain it's not a good place. Not remotely.

She did not skirt around that law, it was manipulated so that charges were not brought against her.
Trump is a joke. The gop had some interesting candidates this year but all of those that were interesting were noncareer politicians. Trump if nothing else should be a wake up call to the gop telling them their direction is wrong. The gop has a whole host of issues that need to go away now and forever. But this isnt about the gop. This is about a single person who broke the law. A law put in place to protect America and American lives.

I was listening to the whiney guy and valley girl from Citizen Radio the other day and they made an interesting point. Basically do you prefer to protest Hillary for four years or Trump for four years? I thought that's a really different way to look at it.

That's easy. Clinton. Because she doesn't give a shit what other people say about her and even if she does, it won't stop her from continuing to work her ass off and get shit done. Insecure Trump would waste his time trading insults with his protestors and we would have to watch a four year counter-punch war. Nothing would get done.

Hillary ain't got time for that shit! She's all business.

Hillary work her butt off? Like she did when she couldn't be bothered to approve the request for more security in Bengahzi or couldnt be found while they were under attack and then lied about it? Granted the lie was supported by the Whitehouse but still.

It seems to me that even before the outcome, at least on this forum, people are trying to unite and support their ideas and each other, ahead of "candidates".

I guess as I was trade union rep I'll be called a lefty socialist. I don't think there are many of those, in China, North Korea or Russia tho. Democracy is not simple and easy, It's just way way better than the alternatives imho.

Whatever disagreements I've had with any countries govt. I know the difference between disagreement with them, and their people. I'd guess most times we'd get along fine without them. For five days in May 2010 this pretty much happened in the UK. Maybe the best govt we've ever had lol.

That is a Hillaryous statement.

A person is not able to deny a request that they were not aware of. She did nothing illegal.

And you act as if she created the lie on her own and then the Whitehouse backed her. She was doing her job. And at that moment, they felt that it was in the best interest of the people (whether that turned out to be true or not) to withold. You have no idea what it's like to be in a position like that. Decisions are made, not all are popular, but sometimes that is how it has to be. All you Monday morning quarterbackers need to get a grip STAT.

Republicans have been after her ever since she stepped foot in the White House as First Lady. This is what happens when men are afraid of a woman that is smarter and braver than all of them put together. They have created lie after lie until people started to believe the bullshit. And now it is just accepted as truth. But sorry, I'm not buying into it.

You may not like her ideas or how she chooses to handle her business, but at the end of the day, your disapproval doesn't mean she should be in jail. That woman is as solid as they come and I admire her for all the good she has done and is continuing to try and do for the people of the U.S. Of course she has made mistakes...she is human. But I trust her to do the right thing for our country and I will proudly be voting for her to be the next President of the United States of America.

She is a criminal and not liking her has nothing to do with her being a woman. She is a liar, thief, manipulator. She is an ugly ugly person on the inside. I rank her as having and average IQ but a heart that makes it easy for her to take advantage of people.
She might get to be President, that remains to be seen but even if she does it will be short lived.
Youve made up a lot of stories in your own head about why people dont like her.
