I wont name names, and I won't talk about what I mean by politically disgusting, by why are some members on this forum politically disgusting? Why do you think that is?

I think misinformation and embraced ignorance has a great deal to do with it. Also the desire to not live in the real world and create a fantasy world in one's head instead.
 
While I do have strong and deeply held opinions, politically, I enjoy being exposed to different positions. Most of the folks on here that share political views are respectful and concise in presenting themselves, but there are a few who delight in vulgar portrayals of prominent individuals representative of opposing points of view. I for one find it distasteful and do not subscribe to the notion that "both sides do it".
The whole idea of "slapping" people verbally with whom one is in a disagreement with quite frankly as no place in this forum, in my opinion. I am thankful when folks point out that I am guilty of it and extremely sensitive to folks, like @slant who raise objections to this kind of behavior.

I do not think sanctions are in order but I do believe that we as a group,especially when discussing politics , should be mindful that we are only pushing other forumeers away from participating when we repeatedly engage in this kind of thing.

Along these lines we should bring back the thumbs down.
