The universal fine-structure constant - alpha

Here's an interesting video released today about alpha, one of the universal constants that makes the universe as it is. Interestingly it's approximatively equal to 1/137.

It is the "coupling constant" or measure of the strength of the electromagnetic force that governs how electrically charged elementary particles (e.g., electron, muon) and light (photons) interact.

It's interesting that there's a purely physical constant (as opposed to a mathematical constant) that has no dimensions. There's something cosmically mysterious about it.
