I heard an environmentalist criticising the use of carbon fibre in bicycle frames. (Carbon fibre is non-recyclable, and non-biodegradable).
I didn't have time to listen further, and I didn't want to get drawn into a discussion of the rubber tyres I was buying. My impression was that Carbon Fibre was a good choice: it's low-energy to produce, and when it's disposed of in landfill, it takes carbon out of the biosphere.
What's wrong with carbon fibre? (To lazy to wade through google for this one).
