Do any of you notice any at any time? If you do, do you think that they cause some placebo to make you think that you have hurt in that area?

Yes I do get them. I would not be able to pin point there exact cause though.

Well, I think that it's due to sustaining damage to my pre frontal cortex.

My understanding is that eye floaters are essentially your eye coming apart and losing cells as you get older. It happens to everyone.

Everyone gets floaters. I get them pretty often.

Your eyes are full of liquid on the inside, and eventually some cells break off and float around in the liquid inside your eyes. You can't usually see them directly but they can be big enough to cast a shadow as light travels through the fluid to the back of your eye. Floaters are those shadows.

oh man.. i have such big floaters that it can be pretty distracting under certain conditions… they have been progressively increasing in size and number within the past year… i just saw my eye doctor and she isn’t too concerned about it… she said that the fluid in your eyeball shrinks and something about this process causes floaters… but she did recommend i see a specialist because i see flashes too so idk… i think it’s just a product of aging...

Neil DeGrasse Tyson explains them very well on Cosmos, I think.
We all have them constantly, we're just made to not pay any notice to them. Just like you always see your nose, but very rarely pay any notice to it.
Try looking at something and then into a white computer screen. Our field of vision is mostly black floaters.
It's because we used to be fish. Apparently we once had amazing eyes, but they were too protruding and so we had to protect them more.
So they shrunk and are now protected by your cranium, top to bottom.

I used to have them a lot more than recently. No idea why they are almost gone. o.o
