I recently got a new phone, a Samsung Galaxy S II... I've been hobbling along with really outdated second hand phones for years so this is a huge step up for me... I'm always one to try and get as much out of things as I can so I'm digging around and experimenting with applications.

Here are some applications I've come across so far... would love to know of any that you recommend :)

Relax and Sleep - Free

Build a sound scape using 35+ different sounds... adjust the volume of each layer separately... and save them. With some experimenting you can come up with some really relaxing sound scapes :)

TeslaLED Flashlight - Free

In my old phones I always used the torch... there are lots of different torch apps, I liked this one the most out of the ones I tried :) Pretty cool with the strobe as well!

Reduce Photo Size - Free

Don't know why there isn't an option to resize in the default photo editor... but anyway this app does it pretty well.

Unified Remote - Free

I used my old sony erricson as a remote control for my laptop (great for when playing movies on my tv via the laptop) and was glad when I came across this application.

Puddle Drops - Free

Just a wallpaper... but really beautiful implementation... here's a video of it in action:

NetQin Antivirus - Free

I never thought we'd end up having fully fledged computers for phones, but here we are... better get an antivirus installed...

Instant Heart Rate - Free

Pretty nifty, really does work quite well... have to get the finger pressure right and in the right place but when you do it's very accurate.

LHSee - Free

Physics nerd alert... check this one out, it's renders data coming from the ATLAS detector... view the particle collisions rendered in 2D or 3D... and some cool facts / info about the experiment.

Sleep Talk Recorder - $1.99 ?

This is one of only two apps I have paid for (the other was to track my data / plan usage)... this application records when you talk in your sleep. I think it's cool :)
